HOW WE CARE FOR YOU AND ALLERGEN FOOD INTOLERANCES

At our last Hygiene inspection (as always, we achieved a 5 Star Rating), we were told that our approach to Allergens exceed even the best restaurants!

For ice cream vans, the industry standard required when asked about allergens in a lolly is to hand the lolly to the customer for them to attempt to read the advice on the packaging, good luck with that!

We are happy do this of course, but the lolly begins to melt in warm hands and your queue grows longer.

We use the Lollie Dollies Allergen Matrix board which we hand to the customer. This board in excel format shows every product available on the van from the ice cream to the cones, to the lollies to the sauce, to the rainbow sprinkles.

Instantly, you can see which products contain which specific allergens. For example, you can simply glance down the egg column and for each product you will see either a yes or no.

The size of the board also makes this so much easier for the visually impaired.

For School Events, Corporate Events, Sports Events etc, again we lead the industry by providing upon request, the Lollie Dollies Allergen Matrix on an excel spreadsheet emailed at point of booking to the client. The client can then forward this to the attendees, or parents of, long before the event day, providing and ensuring ample time to make the right choices for those with an allergen intolerance.

The Lollie Dollies HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) management system ensures there is no cross contamination that might affect Allergen Control and yet again, we lead the industry by ensuring that all staff have studied and passed the Food Allergy and Intolerance Training Certificate.

All Lollie Dollies staff also hold up to date Level 2 Food Hygiene Certifications.

An example of this can be seen at a number of schools we work for. Parents of a child have concerns regarding their child’s allergen intolerance, to the point that only one ice cream product that they source is suitable for consumption.

The parents will drop off this product at the school to be kept in the freezer and on the event day, this is passed to us, and kept in our freezer until the child, accompanied by a teacher, comes to the van for their serving.

Why should an allergen intolerance prevent a child from enjoying our service with their friends?

If you’ve reached this paragraph, you share our passion for understanding product ingredients so you may be interested to know that all of our vans carry a folder containing specification sheets for every product we provide, how refreshing is that!
